Closure Announcement

We regret to inform you that after careful consideration, we have made a difficult decision to close SGV Cancer Support after 20 years of service.

This will take effect from 23/07/2024.

This is due to the declining demand for our service. Despite of our tireless efforts to meet the needs of the community, changing circumstances have led to this unfortunate outcome.

We are extremely grateful for all your support and kindness over the years which has been invaluable in making a significant difference to people affected by cancer in Haringey and its neighbouring boroughs.

Your contributions have enabled us to run a weekly Drop-in, provide wellbeing activities, support and advice. A weekly haven for people affected by cancer who were able to meet and share their cancer experiences.

Chatterbox Cancer Group – for cancer patients run by cancer patients

What they say about themselves:

We are a group of cancer patients and started chatterbox from patients for patients. We used to meet once a month in Crouch End, North London, but since the lockdown have been meeting up via zoom fortnightly on Tuesdays. Anybody with cancer is welcome.

We all have different cancers, different stages, and different treatments. During our get-togethers we talk about all sorts of things in a safe place, of course we talk about cancer, our experiences in hospitals, with friends/families, how we feel but above all we share information and experiences and enjoy a good giggle or laugh.

  2. Would otherwise be on their own for Christmas Day
  3.  Living within a 3 mile radius of Jacksons Lane (or the bits of Haringey just beyond this)
