The SGV Cancer Support Group drop-in centreĀ  service is for adults only. We are unable to provide this service for people under 18 years of age.

Volunteers have had some general training but are not medically trained or qualified to give any advice about your diagnosis, treatment or care.

To comply with Health and Safety regulations, only volunteers are allowed in the kitchen area.

No food brought from outside will be allowed on the premises.

No smoking is allowed in any part of the premises and all users must refrain from using alcohol. Users who breach this policy will be asked to leave the premises.

The SGV Cancer Support Group has an Equal Opportunities Policy (EOP) and takes steps to be open and accessible to all and oppose all forms of discrimination. We welcome all adult people, irrespective of their age, disability, gender, race, cultural origin, sexuality, political or religious beliefs. All users are expected to comply with the EOP.

All volunteers are expected to treat each other with mutual respect. All forms of abuse are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. All complaints should be referred to the Team Leader who will arrange for appropriate action to be taken.

Any personal information given by users will be kept completely confidential and all volunteers are expected to comply with the SGV Confidentiality Procedure. All users are asked to respect confidentiality and to refrain from gossiping about or discussing other users or volunteers.

All accidents should be referred to the Team Leader. In the event of fire or emergency, users are expected to comply with evacuation procedures.

SGV is unable to accept responsibility for personal property, including vehicles left in the centre car park. Valuables should not be brought into the drop-in centre and all essential belongings should be kept on the person at all times.

Email and mobile phone text (SMS) messages are not a secure form of communication. Confidential matters should not be included in Email or SMS messages. The contact form on this website generates an Email, so should not be used for confidential messages.
